TAMPA A Largo man who worked as a special agent in diplomatic security for the U.S. Department of State was indicted Wednesday on child pornography charges.
James Charles Cafferty, 45, who worked at the U.S. embassy in London, possessed more than 15,000 files containing child porn, court records show. The U.S. Attorney's Office said Cafferty subscribed to several child pornography Web sites.
He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison if he is convicted of receiving child pornography and 10 years if convicted of possessing the material. A State Department spokeswoman could not say Friday if Cafferty was still employed there.
